About the event

About the workshop:

Have you ever wanted to bring your paints to the beach but don’t know where to start? Join local artist and naturalist Allison Donohue in learning some simple techniques for painting waves and shorelines in watercolor. You’ll learn how to capture the feeling of a crashing wave with a few brushstrokes, and paint a foamy tideline. This workshop is appropriate for adults at all levels of art experience. All materials will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

About the instructor:

Allison works in oils, acrylics and watercolors, and can often be found painting from her canoe in the wilds of Maine. She is passionate about connecting people to the natural world through art. In addition to her work in fine art, she studies natural science illustration through the Yale Peabody Museum, and spends her free time volunteering as a Maine Master Naturalist.
