Lehoux Art Gift Shop
The Lehoux Art gift shop/gallery space is located at 1662 Post Road in Wells, Maine within Abenaki Professional Park. As you enter the campus, follow the drive around the left side to the parking lot behind the rear building (Building B). Once parked, follow the brick walkway to the center of the building and go through the door with the Lehoux Art sign above it. The door to the shop is directly on the right as you enter the building.

Meet Danielle Lehoux
I was born and raised in Cape Neddick, Maine and currently reside in nearby Wells. My passion is creating graphic artwork in a block print style, loosely inspired by the vintage “See America” posters of the National Parks. Seven generations deep, I create art from a place I know by heart—Maine. My work reflects the textures, tones, and timeless rhythms of New England life.

I've always loved creating art and spent many hours of my youth drawing with markers and pastels, shaping clay into pots, dabbling in printmaking, and painting. During college, I started exploring graphic design and found that working on a computer really spoke to me for many reasons. This medium quickly became my favorite way to create art.

Here are five fun facts about me:
1. My married name, Lehoux, means "holly" in French; my maiden name, Losier, means "willow" in French (I went from a tree to a shrub 😆).
2. I created my first piece of art when I was two years old (I still have it!).
3. I have worn glasses since I was ten years old and suffer from double vision (corrected with prism in my lenses), and chronic migraines - this makes being a visual artist challenging at times.
4. I am the 1993 Class B Maine state champion in the triple jump and held the York High School triple jump record for over 20 years (and the high jump record for over 10 years).
5. I have hiked all 48 4,000 footers in NH, finishing on Mount Madison in 2010.

About the Process
I use a stylus as my “paintbrush” and my computer screen as my “canvas” as I create my digital artwork.

I work in layers, usually starting with the foreground and then moving backward, creating shapes that, when viewed together, make up the entire finished piece.

My bird artwork is made up of anywhere from 50 to 75 layers. My scenic artwork is much more detailed and can contain anywhere from 200 to 250 layers in a single piece.

Here's a video of how I created my Common Eider artwork.

About Lehoux Art

Lehoux Art was established in 2015. Designed in Maine and printed in the U.S., products are made to be felt, gifted, and lived with. Small-batch, never rushed, always intentional.

Every piece is created to evoke calm, connection, and a gentle nostalgia—those fleeting moments of summer stillness, backyard birdsong, sweeping views, and coastal breezes.

Not museum walls or gallery exclusives—this is nature you can hold, send, and share. Trays, cards, coasters, prints and more that bring a bit of the outside in.
