Lobster Boats, Port Clyde Maine Print

For more than a decade now, my family has been vacationing in Tenants Harbor, Maine every summer. One of the family traditions is driving down to Port Clyde after dinner to get our favorite treats at Village Ice Cream. Rather than crowding all of us into the tiny shop, I opted to walk down the hill past the general store to watch the sun begin to set. It was as quiet as can be as the sun dipped further toward the horizon behind a light veil of clouds, casting muted tones of pinks, purples, and blues on the salt water below. The lobster boats were anchored for the night, bobbing ever so slightly as the incoming tide lapped against them. As I stood there taking in the peaceful scene and inhaling the salt-tinged air, a sense of calm washed over me. Even though I’ve lived near the Maine coast my entire life, I still never tire of its beauty, and I’ll hold this scene in my heart for years to come.
