Laudholm Farms, as it was once called, was the largest and most progressive saltwater farm in Wells, Maine in the early 1900s. The farmhouse is the heart of the Laudholm Campus, its massive structure holding court on the hill it sits upon. The large covered porch greets me as I walk up the hill from the Muskie Trail, the path bordered by wildflowers and milkweed during the warmer seasons. Taking the time to stop, I sit on the porch and look out over the fields, imagining what the property looked like when it was a working farm more than a century ago.
